I do not understand the term "hatchet job" and what it is trying to suggest. I am not a native English speaker. Further, I do not understand that whole paragraph, for that matter. Someone could explain it perhaps? Gabor Frankl gabor_frankl@yahoo.com
No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.
It’s a slang expression (I think used mainly by Americans) that means "A crude or ruthless effort usually ending in destruction." It is usually used when talking about someone in politics - did a hatchet job on the mayor's reputation.
