Harry Potter ending

What does the apparent leak of the Harry Potter ending say about online media? Does it suggest that nothing can be kept secret anymore?

Well, probably no. At least not something that is of interest to hundreds of millions of people all over the country and abroad as well...

I'm not saying JKR should have just given up. Certainly all the secrecy helped the hype. But to completely hide the contents of the book seems impossible.

You know what they say about secrets, if more than one person knows about it, it's no longer a secret.

I'm really excited about the new Harry potter and yet, this secrecy campaign was so well organized, I'm pretty sure that the leak was a part of the game. It gave the newspapers something more and exciting to write about and got JKR who kept pretty quite in recent month a push to talk to the media. I think it was a part of the PR.
