You have breeder rights under the AKC - call them!

Never ask for a sold puppy back to give to someone else for any reason! If that person registered the pup with the AKC, you can lose your breeder's lisence.

Go to the police, immediately, with your breeder's info and all the info about the situation or ask for an officer to go to your home. You can ask for a patrol around your house while you seek a restraining order for yourself and your daughter.

Under contractual law you didn't owe them anything or to help them place the dog. You can also get 24/7/365 response from any ASPCA and I would report them to an ASPCA. That kind of thing can be traumatic on a pup and if that's how they make a living, it is a federal crime.

Have no conversations with them. Get an answering machine.
