Asked about “10 Habits of Happy Couples

Happy Couples - kids or no kids?

So what about a habit going a way or going-out on a regular basis without your kids? Does it help? Does it need to be more spontaneous?

In most cases, it helps a lot. You were a couple before you became parents, and when you neglect the love and romance of your relationship and the "coupleness" of it, you tend to get dragged down in the day to day. Your loving feelings get buried under diapers or girl scouts, or soccer. Make time to love each other. Make time to be alone, and spend some of that time out of the house, away from the day to day and the kids.

One way couples can nurture their relationship is to have shared experiences. It is always good to have a shared hobby with your partner so that you can bond and build memories together.
