Hair Styles for Baby Boomers

I am bummed by the lack of hair styles for "baby boomers." I am 56 years old and while I do want my own style, I do not want to pretend I am 30. My hair is rather short which I prefer, but I still want a little funk. Any suggestions?

Honesty and Simplicity....Upcycle and Keep it Simple

How about shorter... but kind of tousled?  the Meg ryan style we all loved is still flattering and youthful.   Leave the straight hair to the young women.  I think the bob is very aging (especially when women insist on dying their hair a dark color)... but so many women in their fifties and sixties like the look but I think it pulls a face down and ages a woman to have straight hair around her face after age 40.

Thank you. It's an idea and I will talk to my stylist about it.

I think I know what you mean by "funk" and if I'm right men can have the same problem. I've got long hair but it's very straight and I wanted to change it so my wife suggested I start using curlers several times a week. She got me started and I like the effect so much I'm considering getting a perm but I'm concerned about the perception I might create. She is fine with this but does anyone have any opinions on men with curls?
