My Guitar's Knobs are SNAFU'D!

This is going to be a little complicated. I recently bought a new guitar (Ibanez Artcore AG-75). Its a beautiful semi-hollow electric guitar which I have barely used as an electric guitar since I bought it, mainly because it has such a nice unplugged sound. Yesterday I plugged it in and realized that the three-way pickup selector was only working on the bottom setting. On the middle section, it works when the top left knob (which is one of the volume knobs) is at about 6. A few questions:

  • What could have caused this?
  • How can I fix this alone?
  • Where can I bring this to get looked at or fixed? (I live in Jerusalem and am not so thrilled about travelling around)
  • Picture of my guitar's knobs

Well, if this is a brand new guitar from a store (not a second hand one) you should try to go to the store when you bought it and hopefully it will still be under warranty.

If this is a used one or the warranty has expired I would still be good to go to where you bought the guitar since you might be able to give it to repairs from there.

I know that sometimes (even in new guitars) there are problems in the connectors and either they do a lot of noise while you turn the knobs or they work only at a certain level. I had the same problem with my Gibson Les Paul.

I don't know any stores in the Jerusalem area, but most places where they sell guitars will be able to give you an address (hopefully in Jerusalem) about where you can fix your guitar. I just brought mine to where I bought it (Klei Zemer - they even have a store in Jerusalem). I went to the store in Petach Tikva (where they sell the used equipment, where I bought my guitar).

Hope this helps a bit.
