Growing watermelon

We planted a black diamond watermelon and it seems to be doing fine, however it has yellow flowers blooming and then falling off? Is this a problem? This is the 1st time we have ever planted anything. A friend gave us the plant.

This is what vine veggies do as they grow.  I have zucchini growing now and I have beautiful yellow flowers that last only a couple days, but rest assured this is how I know whatever I've planted is growing happily and properly.
