What causes my adult daughter to write letters, address them, put the postage on them, but never mail them; not open her bills and if she does, pays them late, clothes in a pile in her room, still living at home at 30.
Her godmother has called her several times and she's never returned the call. I even reminded her and she said, Oh, yes, I need to do that, but still hasn't.
She is working but it doesn't pay her enough to have her own apartment.
When she gets her pay check, she goes out socially, buys a few clothes.
We have taught her and shown by example the important of good credit, paying her bills on time, etc.
I'm beginning to wonder if some if this happens to be genetic. We adopted her at three months. I'm even thinking she has adult Attention Deficit Disorder. She has so many of the the symptoms of this disorder.
I really think she needs to see a counselor but I just don't know how to approach her in a sensitive way. Her dad and I love her very much but feel she's struggling but doesn't know how to deal with it or even admit she has a problem.
It took her 5 years to get her Associate's Degree. Then she attempted several colleges to finish her degree but never did. She would get bored or just couldn't motivate herself to complete it.
On her resume she always puts her college degree is pending. I'd like to ask her what that is supposed to mean. I think she realizes the importance of a degree or she wouldn't be listing it in her resume.
Any advice someone can give me, would be so grateful. I cry over this situation so many times.
Thank you very much.
