Grocery Coupons and Sale (flyers) - market research

I'm doing research on grocery coupons and sale (weekly flyers) that supermarkets put out and have the following questions. Could you please help me or point me in the right direction.

1. what is the success rate of these sale (weekly flyers) and coupons that supermarkets send out?

2. How much money would a typical supermarket spend on these flyers?

Thank you, Prasad

As the recession worsens, more people are reverting to coupons to try and save money, so coupon use is rising quickly.  As to cost of flyers, in bulk they are under a penny a sheet, so this is a very cost effective mainstream method of advertising products. There is a science to it, coupons will be effective for a couple weeks usually, and you will never see same item on sale if coupon campaigns were launched at same time.

The best way to save money on groceries is to use wholesale direct online name brand gorceries at http://Organic-Groceries-Direct.com
