Why do we observe Communion?

  •
  • We observe Communion because the Lord told us to. We are to obey His commands:
And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me."

Life is beautiful! As Abraham Lincoln said "You can be as happy as you choose to be". So true, if you are a believer.

Richard ...  I do not understand what you are talking about. What is wrong w/ communion? What are they failing to tell me??

Hi Richard I don't go to church for religious reasons for the fact that I was born of a Jewish mother, but brought up with many different faiths, so do know pretty much about most and to respect all, should clarified that but I think all that are here or read this and you know me long enough so I wont get into the ones that conceder us the devil. But over the years have been in many churchs and schules. Your question was what is the biggest danger.....
Your answer is that people are not going, plain and simple!!!

The lowest servant in Heaven is still in Heaven.

Whoever rules in hell is still in hell, but they won't rule for long.

Richard, we serve communion at every service.  That is two AM services every Sunday.  We celebrate the Lord's Supper as commanded, "In remembrance of the Lord."

I have yet to see a Sunday when we did not serve communion.

Yet, it is but the smallest part of Christ's plan for our lives.  Most of the week, I am not in Church.  I spend time weekends fixing the place (one of the few General Contractors) and two Boy Scout meetings a week there, but most of the time, I am either working at school, or at home with my family.

It is a good way to live.

Folks, allow me to note that the primary danger to the Church is hardly a matter of communion.

Try to see it from the Ministers' point of view.

I work with two youth groups and the building maintenance ministry.  Every weekend, my guys get up on ladders and do for the Church what they do for my managers, Joe and Fausto Macias -- Catholics both -- at a Lutheran Church!  Every other weekend, we help out at the Saint Michael's Catholic Church, and we're mostly Baptists and Lutherans!

The spirit of cooperation is helping us understand that there is ONE Church -- the whole body of believers in Christ.  Anything past that is a minor doctrinal issue.

The primary danger the Church faces is from leftist liberals.  These rebellious firebrands will do quite literally anything to subvert the Church and get people fighting.

Every week, I get applications from an average of eight convicted child rapists across my desk asking to volunteer with our youth groups!  Four times last year and twice this year, felony DWI convicts have asked to drive our school bus, regardless that they cannot qualify for the required CDL.  One still had a felony warrant out on him!  That is a safety problem I will not tolerate!

The thing is, when I turn these people down, they become truly belligerent and they retaliate in ways I do not want to relate.  I will say that these people know every dirty trick in the book and have written a few new chapters just to be annoying.

There is so much worse that you might not believe it, but it falls to people like me to deal with that madness.

No answer found, but some may think so with the "I found the answer" there! This ANSWER IS a personal finding  for those who have been unworthy to take the breaking of the bread and the drinking of the cup ,and need's to be searched out by those who God will alert to this question.
