Does anyone know a charitible organization I can contact to get a new or used wheelchair accessible van donated to a couple who is dire need of help? They were hit Tuesday by a semi and their van was demolished. They had minimal insurance on it but the van was old and worth about $200.00 My brother-in-law who is 69 has had polio since he was 14.
The van they had no strap mechanisim for his chair. So he was violently tossed, his wheelchair demolished, and they had a hard time getting him out of the vehicle. He will be receovering for several weeks in a care center. They recently filed bankrupcy and the family is trying to help get them a handicapped accessible vehichle. These are the most loving caring people, who always think of others first.
