I may not be Mr. Know It All, but I knew him well and he taught me much.

Why don't you Google your question first?

Why don't people just do a search on their question before coming here? I'd have to say that most of the answers provided in Yedda are from people who have no worldly clue about the subject. They do a quick Google search and then make up an answer that is way out of context so they can sound like a bigshot or know-it-all. You see a lot of "I heard" or "They say" answers that are just plain wrong.

So why don't people Google their question first?

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

I agree that many people could use a search engine to find their answers.  Some are just lazy, but many others don't know how to do an efficient search.  I know that many of the searches I've attempted over the years have netted me a bunch of red herrings but no good results.

There are, also, the posts where someone needs a layman's explaination.  Often, a google search will get them only highly technical responses that don't do them any good.

We yeddites aren't trying to impress anyone that we know-it-all; we are just here to assist someone that needs a little help.

Hi

There seems to be a problem on our end with the editing of the title. There is no need to edit again. The changes should take effect within the next few hours (and the editing option will be active again). I'm sorry for the delay, but will vouch for the fact that you have edited your question to correct the misspelling.
