Google's translation mechanism works by matching translated texts to originals in various languages. I think the Hindi translation hasn't been available very long and it may still be more buggy than the others. Another thing is that European languages tend to be more similar while Asian languages are sometimes quite different and translations aren't always spot on.
However, from my experience in translating Chinese and Japanese, it's often good enough to understand the meaning of things.
