I think it's mostly useful.  For example, maybe I want to visit AT&T Park in San Francisco, and I'd like to see what it looks like.  Now I can type in AT&T Park San Francisco on Google Maps, click on "Street View," navigate around the stadium ... and it's like I'm there already!
