Why would an all powerful God allow evil to exist ...

Why would an all powerful God allow evil to exist if he has the power to make it all good?

Think about this answer really hard. If there was no evil, there would be no good.

Life is too serious not to have a sense of humor.

I would like to say something about dualism and opposites.

Black and white; hot and cold; day and night- these are opposites as the two sides of a coin are opposites. Three feet is not the opposite of four feet. GOD is good. What measures up to His standards is good. If it does not, it is evil.

We could very simply change terms, and call the side of the coin that bears the face tails, and call the other side heads. People would adapt and nothing would really change. Because GOD defines good by His character, we cannot trade definitions, If we did, then murder, theft, and rape would be good- socially acceptable. And feeding the hungry, treating and teaching your children well, stopping at red lights would be evil, and punishable by the courts.

And like two chess pieces of opposing players, often good and evil stand very close together. One may consider them opposites, but they are not interchangeable as many things that we consider opposites are.

And Bean, I did not start this out as a refutation of your stance, but it turns out that it is. GOD is good, and before He created space and time, and man, good existed in the absence of evil.

Evil is a side effect, it's that simple.

Dreamtime and Mal'ak-

I would think that you would scream bloody murder in response to any anti-Semitic propaganda. Yet, you write of your beliefs which are rabidly anti-Xian, and claim that they are true, and that Christians are embracing a lie.

This is a double standard.

And Mal'ak, you say that GOD defines good. I agree, He is good, therefore, He defines good. Then you speak of evil as being a by-product. No, it is an absence of good. 0 degrees Kelvin is absolute zero. Very cold. It is defined as the absence of heat.

When I first joined Yedda, I jumped all over Ben E. for some statements that I did not agree with. I have since backed off. I hope that I have apologized. But Jews and Christians worship the same one, HVHY. If we could bury the axe somewhere instead of each others foreheads, there is much we could learn from each other.

Hear, O Israel, the LORD is our god, the LORD is one. You shall worship the LORD with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.

Hello Jeff,

God when he made his world he made everything in a double face, e.g. rivers <pure water> and seas, morning and night, sun and moon.

and we <humans> are free to choose either bad (evil) work or good work, and since the evil work for most humans are most liked,so we some are choosing it as it is kind of easier..and as JayR said:"God wants us to voluntarily worship Him", so its our choice!

all that is for our benifit, so we can go to heaven according to our work!

as its totally unfair if there wasn't a punishment for bad people, and a prize/reward for good that is heaven.

hope that i took part in answering
