A:

The earth's climate has been changing ever since it has had a climate to change. Massive Ice sheets have several times covered much of the globe (the last time was about 24,000 years ago), only to melt as the climate warmed again, These cycles of warming and cooling obviously have not been caused by human activity ( as some claim the current alleged warming trend has) because it has been going on long befofre any humans were around. Climate change is a natural phenominon.

The current short term warming, which began in the seventies, appears to have peaked about 1998, and the earths climate has been cooling slightly ever since. Some climate scientists are forecasting that the cooling trend will last for at least the next 30 or so years.
