Global Warming

If all countries will comply to the Kyoto protocol, it will help to reduce global worming.

The Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is an amendment to the international treaty on climate change, assigning mandatory targets for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to signatory nations.

The objective is the "stabilization of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system"

When I read your question, the rhetorical aspect is what struck me. As in, how could one person solve global warming. The fact is that it is going to take a lot of people individually doing something to move the rest of the world into action. Simply asking your question on Yedda will have some degree of impact. Think about what else you can do.

In my life, I have a crappy carbon footprint. In the last six months or so, I have begun doing things to reduce it. For example, I have installed motion detection light switches in a few areas, switched to high efficiency light bulbs, stopped using the heat dry cycle on our dishwasher, etc. I also started a wiki for a community-created "Green Office" standard. I watched "An Inconvenient Truth" and have passed the message to others. I am exploring the new Hydrogen-based motorcycle (due out this summer) called the ENV. We are taking our family recycling efforts more seriously.

So, get started! 

There's still some debate about whether global warming is actually man made or not.

It's better to be safe than sorry though, right?

We can all do our bit. Simply swapping a regular light globe for a compact fluorescent globe will save 68 kilograms (150 pounds) of carbon dioxide emissions in a single year.

Since Global warming is not a problem, there is nothing to solve.  The earth has now entered a cooling cycle and the scientists are telling us it may last for 15-20 yrs.  It is a natural cycle (warming and cooling) and not something we need to solve.
