I do not think giving chocolate in moderation to kids is a form of abuse. I also do not think depriving kids of sweets in general is abuse. In some cases, people could say it's keeping them healthy and in other cases, it's just not giving them a fair chance to decide what foods they like and dislike. There are numerous scientific studies run that prove that chocolate, like wine, can have positive effects on a person when used in moderation. So I think NOT teaching children how to moderate their food intake is child abuse.
