I don't think health problems will help Giuliani right now. It's true that health problems have the ability to drum up sympathy but I have a feeling it'll hurt his chances.
Americans don't what to elect a person who will spend much of his term in hospitals getting medical treatment. They want a president who will be up to dealing with the coming challenges of leading the country and that means physical challenges as well. Sickly presidents spend less time addressing the urgent issues and more time trying to get better.
There's nothing wrong with this but I think Americans would rather elect someone healthy.
