The inability to conceive may or may not be related to the earlier abortion. It all depends upon the age of the fetus at the time of abortion as it will be a decisive factor in deciding as which method to use for abortion, and if the method used was not very invasive then it (abortion) may not be of much relevance.
However some times due to some complication during abortion, later in life there may be blockage of tubes thereby preventing normal passage of ovum.
At times during overenthusiastic curettage there may be damage to the inner lining of the uterus. It is a well known fact that there is a minimum thickness of the endometrium or the endometrial bed which is required to sustain the embryo.
If there is a failure to conceive then you need to be investigated and before you undergo any investigation, your partner should get his semen examined for sperm count and their motility. If that is within normal limits then you should proceed with your investigations.
