Hi,

Because of the nature of gestalt therapy/psychology, by that i mean that it is based on a present-moment existentialist foundation which is deployed by a professional in a methodically structured way.

essentially "constrained" or pre-formed methods and set forms factors are areas in which Deutschen Volke  excel.

we also have to take into account that the second world war had relatively recently ended and the German people did not delight at looking back at this dark time in its history. during this period Germanys future seemed so far away to its people that it was almost laughable to try to look to far ahead, the hear and now is where Germany was forced, by circumstance, to concentrate its energies. The country itself of course, although slowly beginning to recover in its western regions, was still very poor in the eastern areas.

staying mindful of these facts, it is not surprising that a "hear and now" type of therapy was born.
