There is a really neat site on line. "Find A Grave". Try that first. It list all cemeteries in US. Search by state and county by name. May try to search for genealogy sites for N. C. on line. If it is a current death, search social security death index to find where and when they died to narrow it down. Search on line archives of newspapers. If historical death, check with libraries or historical societies or state dept of vitals

Birth and death records are available at the courthouses in each county. They are also available on line at Ancestry.com. N.C. has recently posted death certificates. N.C. National Archives also has records. Local libraries are good sources of information. The Rowan County Library History room is one of the best in the state.  If I can be of more help, contact MENDALO2@aol.com
