Are Gays Born or Made? Marriage not thier right?

It is easy to get carried away in our beliefs, look to history and we can see that.  What we wind up doing is similliar to what the minister does in Pollyanna, We forget such important scriptures ones cherished and inspirational.  Words like :  'Judge not, lest ye be judged'  or   'let he is without sin cast the first stone'.

It is extreme and against God's will I believe that men would fight against each other in the name of God.  Or over such petty matters like to 'Protect' the sanctity of marriage, by stealing the rights of others, or because someone does not think like you that they should be considered second class citizens.

Why not protect what God entrusted us to protect?  God's most sacred laws, The ten commandments.  Thou shall not bear false witness & thou shalt not commit adultery made the list! But there is no mention of 'Thou shalt not take a man as his wife!

To try to lay out a law that denies a very tiny amount of the population is wrong because of a preference?  An act that is natural in the animal kingdom a kingdom that does not wage wars with each other or lusts over power and greed.  The bottom line is that to believe that you are qualified to speak for God and have the wisdom to Judge another, or enact legislation to curtail the rights of a minority.  Than your faith is strong, but with whom does it lie?

I consider myself to be a believer in Christ.  I hesitate to use the word 'christian' because I believe that Its truth has been lost with the development of the church and its modern metamorphises.  I have also taught my son To look the ways of God with his heart and to help to enlighten others who feel  oppressed by this growing christian majority, a concept dating back circa 1972.  I have also taught him to listen to others! Everyone's  got their own piece to this huge puzzle and we need all of these pieces to get the whole picture.  To respect others and to Listen.

If we ever feel that we KNOW we are 'Saved' or think we are smart enough to interpret the Torah or any subsequent writings, than we fall ino the very  clutches of sin.  In short we are Claiming to be a prophet blessed with the sight of God.   Or a learned man who studies.  he Mysteries of God will Never be revealed.

But why on earth would you want to pick apart your own iniquities and denial and force them down onto a tiny minority of people who already have way more struggles than you could ever imagine or could ever even deal with.  This is not pious or at all walking in the way of the lord.  It is more like walking in germany in 1943 'IN step'!

Miles from piety!

The ten laws of God can be a challenge to name off the top of your head, but I'm positive however that 'Thou shall not love man as a woman'? or vice -versa is NOT one of them.

The details given to those laws and the the ark are extrordinary.  Truly a mystery.  As is alot of the early oral teachings speaking of these in passed down through time.  As in Sodom and Gommorah, which references the towns folk as wanting to have intercourse with the angels of God.  This is a common scripture used to oppress homosexuals. Enoch of course tells the story of these angels and the Asexual nature.

Leviticus is another that many use to elevate themselves.  Where many other community laws are written, mostly concerning mundane interactions. They tell us how to treat a slave and what parts of fat of to burn in our sacrafices.  In the later books, Romans, where Peter is appalled at the seedy alleys of Rome and the sex dens he witnesses there.  (Sounds like Las Vegas!).

But there is a very detailed love story in the bible that few remember, That love was homosexual, and it involved one of the patriarchs.  David and Jonathan.  Samuel is quite vivid in the description of thier love for each other.  But for some reason people who claim to be infused with God's love will tend to dismiss this and hold onto a hateful scripture that in context is irrelevant to the chapter of the book.

My favorite is:  God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever shall believe in him, will not perish but have everlasting life!

There are so many worthwile causes and Godless going ons in this world, prevention of two men or women from sharing a bond before God, declaring their love for one another, isn't one of those issues! Child porn rings that exploit our children, The evil that money causes, the murders and the condemnation we throw upon each other, or the wars that we ceaselessly wage with one another (in God's name!). Our time and energy is mispent trying to prevent two people from marrying!

Expending that energy pushing God's love and not our own hate.  There are really so many things God would rather us do.  I am afraid That if Jesus were with us today he would not want to be associated with the very church that bears his name. You may recall his father's church was likewise despised by Jesus in his time.  They would follow him and criticize: "If you are indeed the lord than why is it you surround yourself with the prostitutes and the likes...."

Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it:

Since man was created in God's image what are you implying about God? There are a lot of people that I love like my own soul, male and female but I don't sleep with them.

Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

To me Jesus is saying to love my neighbor like my own soul !

To everything, There is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.  After creation and the flood, we did need to multiply.

As for the rest you seem like you have love in your heart.  Try to see beyond this conditioning and embrace the world of then that you know very little about.  Attitudes hadn't time to develop into the rigid ways we tend to think these days.  Hate is to try to supress anothers rights, to limit ones rights based on an interpretation or dogma is in fact acting as a judge, something God tells us is not our job.  Enforce his laws, yes.  But read ALL of his scriptures, don't just cut n' paste the ones you like, know and are familliar.  Have you read Samuel?  Read it ALL Again now and then tell me if the clips i cut n' pasted are mis-interpreted.  There is only one story that i can see, as simply told as adam and Eve.  By the way God created Adam and Eve, but then re-created Eve!!!

Check out the Y- chromosonal Adam - where science can now show that all men on earth have but one lineage. But Mitochondrial eve existed many, many years before man ever made his appearance.

Frouthy,

I have read the Bible inside out. I am a Christian of 30+ years and a devout one. I do not hate anyone for their lifestyle or belief. I leave judgement up to God. No where in the Bible does it say that Jonathan and David had a homosexual affair. There is no way that David could have been a man after God's own heart when God would not even suffer a homosexual to live back in those days. Yes, David loved Jonathan as his soul but it was an innocent (my home boy) love.

Although I do not condone homosexuality because it is against my belief and my Religion, I do not hate homosexuals. God said to hate the sin and not the sinner. I have friends that I worked with before I retired that were of an alternative lifestyle. I also let them know that I did not condone their lifestlye but that was between them and God.

I have enough to account for my own sins when I stand before God, I cannot judge anyone else. I believe in living and letting live and leaving the rest up to God. He is the supreme judge not I. I can only tell man what thus says the Lord and try to lead him to salvation, but the ultimate decision is his, and the final judge is God.

Be Blessed

Jeremiah 23:19
Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked

Genesis 2 (New International Version)

Genesis 2

the LORD God formed the man The Hebrew for man (adam) sounds like and may be related to the Hebrew for ground (adamah) it is also the name Adam (see Gen. 2:20). from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [b] and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

27 So God created man in his own image,
       in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

  1. 1 Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
1 Corinthians 6:8-10 (in Context) 1 Corinthians 6 (Whole Chapter)

Matthew 9 (New International Version)

  Matthew 9
12On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

When we put short term gains before long term consequences, we invite disaster.

It should be noted here that several times in scripture sexuality is noted as being very much of the flesh, and that love (noted as transcending the flesh) and sexuality are not codependent.

Looking to science we find a complex system of sexuality in the studies of psychology and biology.

First: Sexual preference is not a choice.

Dopamine has been proven to affect sexuality as well as differences in specific brain structure.  In males a gene on the X-chromosome has been linked to homosexuality.

The American Psychological Association has introduced the concept that sexual preference falls within a continuum and that everyone is not completely gay or straight.

Although very little is understood about whether a homosexual is “born” or “made” one thing is clear: It’s not a choice.

Although many will come along trying to secularize the nature of this debate the fact that some estimates put the percentage, of homosexuals in America who are Christian or used to be Christian, at 95% pulls the debate back to religion.

To debate whether or not two homosexuals should be able to marry is trivial.  A civil union does about the same in terms of property rights and doesn’t knock those concerned with what they call the “traditional sanctity of marriage” off they’re rocker.   What is disheartening is that certain denominations of Christianity will not allow gays to take communion or to be buried on sanctified ground.  This is where the real crime is.

I stand on God's word.  Not biology or science, nor medical.  Some are born with both parts.  To state that 95% are Christians?...............someone is leading you, but not the Lord my friend.  Di
