How do I make a glass topiary out of old vases, cups, saucers, plates, and drinking glasses?

I was told that some people use bamboo sticks and then attach vases or saucers or cups and other pretty glass objects on the sticks and then place them in gardens. I was told they refect light and look very pretty. I have never seen one of these items in a garden. I just wanted to know what was used to glue or attach the items to the bamboo poles and if anyone had ever made one of these items and how they made it.
