To be born free is a gift.

To live free is a privilege.

To die free is our duty.

Games weirdoes play.

Toying with the most dangerous frailties that other people suffer always has a disastrous outcome for everyone.  Everyone has suffered under tyrants who play these games.  It is the most simpleminded, and dullest, interaction that the litany of abnormal psychology has ever seen.

However, some among us have risen from the Games People Play.  Eric Berne wrote a seminal piece on this form of self-destructive malconduct.

What was the first "game" that a tyrant used on you, and how did you rise above it?

I was 19 working in a stereo store as a bookeeper. My boss, who was taking a pychology course in night school, everyday was picking on me. One day I started to cry and he took me in the backroom and told me he was doing an experiment on me as to how long it would take me to break. I quit. I should have reported him but his word.... now I ask someone why did you say that? or Why are you asking me that?

Unfortunately, some among us will always do anything rotten to others. Rebels will always be tyrants. That is why hell exists to hold these reprobates captive, and Heaven is anywhere these lunatics cannot go.

I have always fought back one way or another.  As a kid I wouldn't take any guff from anyone. I fought like a Banchee!  As an adult, I've calmed down a bit, but find that "killing them with kindness" usually works.  Avoidance works also.  Life's too short to let yourself be bullied too long.  NJoyG

Thanks for the post, Njoy!

First, you fought back, "Like a banshee."  That's not advisable: game players love nothing more than provoking you to violence and will resort to "extraordinary" means to keep their surly little games moving.  It dulls any relationship and shallows any person, but brainwashed little fools think these games are somehow, "amusing."  Pardon me that I dissent.

Now, you "Kill them with kindness."  Again, not a wise move.  If gamers can get you to do anything (good or bad) based on a game of ANY sort, then they have control over you and absolutely shall abuse it the most malicious ways that they and their sob sisters can figure out.

"Avoidance" is a specific mental illness that is completely disabling.  Getting into that is a sure way to lose everything and collect enemies -- nasty ones.

The real answer is to take back control of your own life, and make it very clear to gamers that you are onto them the minute they first start setting up their usual dishonest games.  Make sure that your reputation is above reproach, and live honestly within your means.

Gamers must always retaliate as all deranged extremists must, but if you have made a point not to let them control you, at least you will have a chance at a peaceful, orderly life, adventure, and a clean conscience.  Let lunatics play all the deranged, bitter, antagonistic games that they want: you will go to heaven while gamers broil in hell.

Sorry it took so long to answer, but we were in Canada.  You'd think that by now, Canadian farmers would have it down very well, but they want to learn how we grow three crops at once and build the soil inthe process.

Boy, if you gave these people a listen about "President Darkie" and "The Kenyan Disciple" you'd want to flatten them, but Bob and I made a point to be polite, if a little bland.

What they don't know won't hurt us.
