The road to nowhere is paved with good intentions.

Hi Eucharia. As long as you're firtile you can always get pregnant. I've heard of women having healthy babies in their 60's!

And don't worry a whole lot about having an unhealthy child, especially if you yourself are healthy and have been preparing your body for pregnancy. Much of the hype about older women running a higher risk of having kids with Downs syndrom, etc.. has been based on (age group statistics). And there aren't many woman who choose to have babies after 40. So what I'm saying is that those statistics are of a very small group of women. You have no more to worry about than an 18 year old girl.

Good luck having your baby!

One more thing I must add to your question, If your Doctor has certainly confirmed that you are going through Menopause, it's true, your child bearing years are over. Adoption is such a wonderful solution to that. Since I was 20 I haven't been able to get pregnant either. When I was 40 I adopted my 4 year old daughter.. and I am so pleased.

Take care!

If you still recieve a period monthly then yes. If that has stopped then I would refer you to adoption agencies, or foster care. One other thing is it may not be you, it could be your mate. Your genes may not be able to cross. This is very common, because it has happen to me and my ex wife.
