This used to be a serious surgery and one would have a huge incision. Now, it is a outpatient procedure that barely leaves a scar! To wait is a mistake. Gall bladder desease can compromise your digestion system. I say this as a person who waited because of insurance reasons and did not get my gall bladder removed in a timely manner. Your gall bladder processes your fat and when removed your common bile duct in your intestine should take over. Well, because I waited so long to take care of this- mine never did. I do not process fatty food well and if it has fat in it, it goes straight through me. So avoid problems and get this common and fairly simple procedure performed. Please.

I agree with wilsonjohanna. During the past 10 years there have been new procedures developed that have resulted in much smaller surgical incisions and quicker recovery times. One such procedure is called laparocsopic cholecystectomy. As far as the development of colon cancer, I am not aware of it. I strongly suggest you talk to your doctor as soon as possible and take care of this situation.
