do not know which is male or female (we inherated these goldfish) but the biggest one looks to be pregnant and is chasing the smaller goldfish. undecided about what to do at this time, is there anyway to know for sure about the sex of these fish and just how long we should wait before removing the pregnant one from the tank with other fish?
Love is the battery of life....
Hi,
Determining the sex is a bit difficult but there are a couple of signs: Female are bigger. When the fish reach spawning age the male will develop small white tubercles on his gill plates and on leading rays of his fins. There is another way by distinguishing the anal opening.
Maybe this web page will help you as well.
