Umm i don't quite understand what you are saying there.

"A convenient way to make sure God is not painted into a corner."

Can you please explain what you were trying to say. thanks a bunch.

Gurrizzle: What I meant is that when we pray for something which God knows is not good for us, He does not not grant it.

Gurrizzle.   The last sentence in your original question is all you need to dwell upon.  As long as you KNOW your own heart and you KNOW you love God and that God is dependable you can live with the confidence of a believer and your needs will be met.

As you grow in spirit, so will your faith and confidence... and guiding all of that is God's grace.  The gift of His Love.  Thankfulness comes naturally to you as you grow in Grace and you begin to see that perhaps some of the things you were praying for were not really needed.  That is the beginning of true enlightenment, when you can learn to let go of what you think you need and let God guide you.

Some will come on here and tell you/or me otherwise, but as long as you know your own heart you will be fine.  Thank you for asking the question.  NJoy

"Sometimes God says No" is not a convenient way to make sure God is not painted into a corner."  You are asking for something and sometimes --- the answer is no.  And only God knows why.  In your heart you wish for this badly but God knows it will not be good for you now, later, or in the long run.  The answer is not always yes.  Sometimes the answer is no.  Thank God throughout this entire process that he knows you because he created you and will always do what is best for you.
