Nissan Cuts 1.200 Jobs

As a result of the recent decrease in sales, Nissan Motor Co. plans on offering buyout packages to close to 6,000 employees. Through the buyout packages, Nissan Motor Co.’s plan is to downsize its staff by 1,200 employees, over the next three years. According to reports, the economic incentive for employees to accept the buyout package ranges from $100,000 to $125,000, contingent on tenure. In addition, employees will also be offered medical and car-purchase benefits. These packages will be offered to employees at two assembly plants in Tennessee. Nissan plans on offering 5,500 employees at the Smyrna plant and 1,100 employees at the Decherd plant to accept the offer. http://www.EmploymentCrossing.com

It is reported that hasco america inc., A MACHINE PARTS MAKER, WILL LEYOFF APPROXIMATELY 40 OF ITS 50 EMPLOYEES AT ITS WESTERN NORTH CARLONIA PLANT.
