Futon beds

I'm moving out from my parents house for the first time. As it looks right now, I'm going to change place every year or so. Therefore I don't want to take my good old, and heavy bed, but to buy a new, light weight one. I thought about buying a Futon bad, because of the reasons I mentioned, though it looks too low for me, while for the last twenty years I used to sleep on a high bad. Another matter that bothers me is that the mattress looks too slim.

Anyone with experience of sleeping on Futon can please shed some light on the comfort of Futon beds?

Another option worth considering is a premium-quality air mattress, like an

Aero-Bed.  I slept on one for about two years, and frankly found it more comfortable than the Sealy Posturepedic fancy-shamancy 'real' matress I replaced it with.  The cool thing about the Aero-Bed is it has a built-in pump and inflates from flat to full in about a minute, and lets you adjust how firm you want it.

I love futons, they are more comfrtable to me than normal beds and I really don't mind their height. Don't worry about this.

However, the mattress of the futons I know is really heavy. It's probably still easier to move since you can fold it and squeeze it into samll cars, but it's not easy.

The bottom line: I recommend buying a futon. I have no idea how much they cost, though, I got mine from a friend.

Aero bed sounds like a good idea, but don't give up on futons to quickly! Futons like people come in all shapes and sizes and I sure there is one just for you. I do own a futon shop in the UK at http://www.futonsfirst.co.uk but am limited to that market. If you go to your browser and in type in 'futon life' you will find one of the best futon resources and information centres around. All the best, Glenn
