If you are gathering all the receipts, the non-profit should wait for the final total of monies received so they may receive what was was donated to them. How long ago was the fund raiser? I have worked in the non-profit field for over 35 years, and know it can take a while until all the receipts have been tallied and the expenses paid.
Call the non-profit and as to speak with the Executive Director of Chief Financial Officer and tell them the status of the money received. This should take care of the problem.....and by the way, exactly who was making such an issue over the money? This is certainly not the correct way to run a non-profit, turning off people who help you.
