I want to buy a documents scanner for my home office. My goal is to get rid of all the paper work I currently have (not loads of it, just a few folders). In the future I plan to scan&shred all the paper mail I receive.
I saw multiple recommendations for the Fujitsu ScanSnap series for this purpose (for example, on LifeHacker.org). I think I prefer the "mobile" s300 version, but I want to be sure about it.
My reasons for prefering the s300:
- it's smaller and will take less table space
- it's less expenssive (on amazon.com, $260 instead of $435)
I know that the s300 is slower, but I don't really mind that, I don't plan to scan large volumes. Does the s510 has any other advantages? In particular, did anybody use them both and can comment about the ease of use, quality of the physical product and of the scan results, etc. ?
Also, if anyone would like to recommend a different product for this use, that would be great as well.
