Fruit Tree problem

My pie cherry tree has branches dying. One large, totally dead. At base of the branch the Bark was split about 8 inches long and edges curled back and thickened. Area went clear to the wood. Now I see several smaller areas on the other branches that are smaller but split down 2 - 3 inches, edges are starting to curl but depth is not clear to the wood yet. Areas are not wet.

Any help would be appreciated.
