The main difference is that classic homeopathy treats the person as a whole and not the symptoms themselves, and if the patient has more than one symptom the homeopath will try to find one medicine that will cure the very basic problem that causes all these symptoms. In French homeopathy, the homeopath may give the patient several medicines, one for each symptom. This is considered bad practice in classic homeopathy.
