French ban on p2p

I just read this post saying that the French government is going after P2P users. First of all this seems really bogus and I really don't don't think that these tactics will work.

My question is, how will this be enforced on open wireless networks?

Do not dwell on the past, nor worry about the future, for tomorrow may not be there. Live today to the fullest, and enjoy life!

Hi,denise! I tend to agree with you,it does seem pretty bogus! I'm pretty sure that they have some sort of hacker-trackers that can find out who you are, even if you are running wireless. But,they're only looking for illegal downloaders,so,Im sure that if you'e doing everything legal, like they're supposed to,then they should'nt have any problems. That's the way it seems to me,at least.Have a good one!

6 thumbs up

In Denmark, it is now illegal to share ones WiFi connection without a private WPA password. Maybe France will add that rule.

What is funny is that the guy who wrote this law is the CEO of Fnac, which is the biggest retail store chain in France for CDs and DVDs. Such distributor is totally useless in this digital age, where artists should be able to sell their music directly to the consumers with no intermediaries in between taking the biggest part of the transaction.
