Once a search engine spider/bot crawls your website, it will typically index it.  To get a spider/bot to crawl it you can either submit it directly or have a link on another site or page that Google is known to regularly crawl.

To submit it, there are forms you can use like:

http://www.google.com/addurl/ (for Google)

https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit (for Yahoo)

http://www.bing.com/docs/submit.aspx (for Bing/MSN)

Thank you, have done all 3. Any more you could recommend?
