Yes, unfortunately you're correct, many of the websites advertise free best man speeches just to lure people into their site. Usually to a page that has many links to paid wedding speech sites.


I remember when I was searching for free best man speeches most of the free speeches that I found were rehashed versions of other speeches done a thousand times before, with tributes and jokes as stale as 3-year-old-fruitcake.

Luckily I found  Dan Steven's best man speeches . There was a charge, it wasn't much, perhaps 20$ at the time , but I was very glad I went that route because...

It was no hassle to find a speech that suited my style, circumstances and the audience, I copied and pasted most of it, added some personal details and anecdotes that I already had in reserve (plus you get many jokes and other extras that you can use) , prepared it super quick, had it down in about 45 minutes.

Loads of pressure was off me immediately and I could relax and concentrate on other things that needed attention. The wedding was a bit stiff, but the speech was a great success, and actually  broke the ice. There was a definite mood change. I couldn't have been happier the way things turned out.

Yeah, I remember when I had to prepare my speech , ouch, running around looking for free best man speeches on the net. I left it until 3 nights before the wedding.

Panic is not the word, I managed to scramble together a few things, the speech went ok but certainly not as well as I was hoping - if there was one thing I regret it was not putting enough effort into my best man speech. The groom and bride were fine with it but I can't help feeling like it could have gone better. Of course, the 4 whiskeys beforehand did an excellent job in loosening me up (a little too much  ).

DO NoT DO EMBARRASSING OR "FUNNY" STORIES

Many best men think that the wedding speech has embarrass the groom or roast him, that is not appropriate, you're his best friend, so raise your glass, tell everyone how much he's meant to you over the years, and wish him and his bride a lifetime of happiness. This will go over way better than funny best men speeches by people who think they're Robin Williams or something.

The best man speech usually lasts between 2 to 5 minutes. Your speech should be funny yet warm and humorous yet sincere. You can  compliment the Bride and poke fun at the Groom and end with a great toast.
