The best way to do a free divorce record search online ? Is there a public, private or government website where one can perform a freedivorce records check? Thanks very much!
Add: I eventually used marriage divorce record search , there is a fee but it's a lot better than wasting time with the little records sites with only partial info limited to small counties and areas ... It was very important to me to do a Nationwide divorce record search - with trustworthy info...

Your question is a question what do you want to find old records or what? As if you are looking for old records you must do a lot of old fashion police worrk that is go to the county or the state this occured in. please send more info as to what you want. As far as looking online that is a waste of time as most records of this type are in the state only.

You can try pilot.familysearch. org (more of a genealogy search), It's free, but I don't think they have divorce records... so unfortunately you won't be able to search for divorce records free. But, They do have plenty of other records that can keep you busy for days...if you have the free time. Ancestry. com have divorce records, but It's part of a paid subscription. You might try and see what you find. What about trying the local public library - many Libraries subscribe to Ancestry. com and/or HeritgageQuest. com so you just may be able to search there for free...worth a shot Hope this helps with your attempts for free divorce record searches !
Google the county clerk's office for the county you believe they would have been married in. You only need one persons full name. To see if they've been married is usually free. To get copies of the records, there's going to be a fee.

Want to know if my boyfriend is really divorced. Does the public have access to divorce records in California?
I don't know the exact date of his divorce. Where can I obtain information of his divorce record? Are there any free websites that I can use?
