Thanks, nice answer Marula, you must confirm your Yedda subscription in the mail Yedda sends you or they cancel your account - I know, they don't make it very clear....
If I'm performing a Texas criminal record search I always go with a private paid search, I'll explain why: 1) There are websites that advertise "free Texas criminal record search" but there usually ends up being a charge at the end. They say the search is free but you have to pay for the report... cheeky! You can waste a lot of time with these sites and if they lure one in with those tactics how confident can I be about their quality of their information? 2) Many private companies who charge have spent a great deal of time and money collecting information from a large pool of government and private resources throughout all the states countrywide . They sort, group and upload this info (no small task) to make it available to the public online.
3) And Most Importantly : With the private online websites I can do a countrywide search. Why is this so important? Because if someone has a criminal record in Florida and then moves to Texas, they will show up as having no criminal record on a free Texas criminal record search - which only checks the State of Texas! (The same goes for free Texas divorce records, arrest records, Texas district court records etc.)
It's because these private companies take data from such a wide net of sources that you stand a better chance of getting complete, accurate and reliable information. Quite crucial considering the importance of the information.
If I had to try and search State by State myself, one by one, it would take a long long time to get reliable and complete information. Plus I would still have to pay a small administration fee many of the times. The online records website that I use is Gov criminal record search , through trial and error (lots of trial and error) I have found them be the most professional. They possess a very large database of information, and supply accurate, fast and complete reports.
One final bit of advice : If you use a paid criminal records search then make sure there is a once off fee only that gives you membership to the records website for a year - plus as many searches as you like. (Some records websites, like the one I use, even allow you to perform other searches - divorce marriage county property etc.) Steer clear of websites who charge per search .
I know you were hoping for a Free Texas criminal record search but I think you'll agree it's worthwhile knowing all the facts.
All the best with your searches.
Don't forget for your free Texas criminal record search you will require the name, birth date and sometimes the social security number. Good luck with the searches.
Marula, thanks for your advice about a free Texas criminal record search , so much more than I expected!
Yes, you have a point, obviously the information I require is quite important so it makes sense to give yourself a shot at the most accurate and up to date info as possible.
Cheers.

Court records are made public by the county courthouses that the case was held in.
Look for the county courthouse website, there should be a link to public records or at least a phone number you can call.
ADD: I have visited the website you reccommended and found it very good. Cheers
Do arrests in one state show up on a federal criminal records check from another state?
A Colorado Bureau of Investigations criminal records check reveals an arrest for DWAI, how about an FBI criminal background check?
Will a Texas criminal record search reveal charges that were withdrawn?
Want to have a Texas criminal record purged , but want to make sure that the withdrawn charges wont appear on a criminal record check.
