2 thumbs up

FreeCreditReport.com

Has anyone tried FreeCreditReport.com?  It seems popular, and I see their commercials all the time.  But is it better than ordering credit reports from the credit bureaus?

You can get your credit report for free on AnnualCreditReport.com.  If you use FreeCreditReport.com, you might pay $15 per month.

Free Credit Report isn't quite as free as they suggest it is. You get a free credit report by signing up for a paid service. You have to then turn around and cancel the service if you want to avoid the monthly charge for the credit monitoring service. So it's free, but with a catch. And they hope that a lot of people will forget to cancel the service and pay the monthly fees. If you use this service, get your credit report, print it out right away, and cancel immediately.

I am Lee Harrison. I have been repairing credit for 31 years. The way I look at FreeCreditReport.com is a joke. You can not dispute any thing on it and they tell you on there disclaimer that --this is not for loan purposes--- There are only 2 credit bureaus--Transunion---experian---equifax and CSC are the same company and they are a information service. To learn about your credit go to a credit bureau. You will save your self a lot of time. And the credit bureaus do not work together. They are 2 different companies. A 3 way mirge and a free credit report from the credit bureaus NO Way. Look at it like this have you ever gone to the credit bureau and got a free report? Case closed

You can get all three credit reports using annualcreditreport.com. If you want to do it yourself, I would suggest that you stagger each reporting company every 4 months. This would give you a better chance of finding errors. Or you can sign up for one of the services that are advertised.

Please contact me for another choice. bagwellel@aol.com. I have joined a company that has what I believe to be the best service.

It's not actually free, it's just a rip off to get you to sign up and pay for their credit monitoring service. The service really doesn't do anything other than cost you money. By law the credit bureaus have to give you a free copy of your credit report once per year and any time you are denied credit. I've used annualcreditreport.com, and that one really is free.

FreeCreditReport.com is a waste of time, your entitled to a free report every year from each credit bureau, people are just start to take notice how important credit is these days and now money hungry companies are banking on it.....just go directly to any of the credit company website and request a report, there's one website I believe you have to call....but the only thing is they dont give you your credit score for free.
