PLEASE do not do that again. Your baby does not need sugar and should not have it. There is enough junk in formula that he does not need. (Yes, I know it is marketed as being "just like mother's milk," but it's not.)
I am going to point you towards a great site that can help you with any breastfeeding issues or questions you may have.
Try www.breastfeeding.com. Here's how we learned about them:
My daughter was initially unable to breastfeed due to supply issues, so she had to rely on formula and that led to nipple confusion. It was an enormously difficult time for both her and my grandson, and the lactation consultants at her hospital were absolutely no help. In fact, they outright told her she would never be able to pump more than 2 ounces and that she would not be able to successfully nurse her baby.
That was unacceptable to me, so I started searching online and I asked for help on that site. After a lot of support and suggestions, guess what? My daughter was able to successfully nurse my grandson - when he was 4 months old!
Please look into it and ask advice from people who have been there. You won't be sorry.
P.S. If you check it out and wonder who to talk to, I highly recommend you speak to Liane. She's wonderful.
