Ford fusion starting problems

The digital display is out on my son's 2008 ford fusion. Two dealerships told him that after 80 times of turning the car on and off that it will no longer start if he doesn't get it fixed before then.  One dealer told him this wasn't so, and Ford themselves didn't give him an answer.  Anybody know anything about this?  Thanks,  his mom
