Forced mortgage insurance

If you have this type of insurance and a storm damages the roof ,does the bank have to fix it?

Sandy,  What exactly do you mean by "forced" mortgage insurance?  If you get your home loan through FHA, you have to take mortgage insurance to ensure that you make your payments.  There is another type of mortgage insurance that you can purchase on your own.  That is usually for a married couple.  They would buy mortgage insurance so in case one spouse dies, the house is automatically paid off by the insurance company.  Any type of mortgage insurance has nothing to do with paying for damages to your home.  For that, you have to file a claim with your home owners insurance company.
