Is beef good for you?
As a vegetarian, I would say no. However, if there is nothing of good nutritional value available to you, I would say it would benefit you to eat it, but it certainly doesn't benefit the steer or cow. If there are vegetable-based foods available, I would say that is a better choice, because (1) it spares an animal its life; (2) it would be healthier for you to eat; and (3) it would be better for the environment. I understand that each of us has different tastes, but there are so many delicious non-animal foods available to most of us that are more healthy than eating meat. Americans get far more protein than they need, and protein is available in many non-animal forms. If you are interested in learning more about diet, nutrition, and vegetarianism, please e-mail me.
