I am looking to find the lyrics to an old song I used to sing as a Girl Scout.
It was called "Woodchild" or "Wood Child"
The first verse was something like "I'll high me in the morning when the song hawks on wing and scan the sky's morning for the first marks of spring" The chorus was "Come all ye town folk with cheeks white and pale for I am the wood child and I seek the green trail"
One of the verses was something like "The wind whispers softly across the tall grass--the tree tops entoning as the west wind flows past"
Can anyone help me with the lyrics or any facts history about the song??
