Floppy drives nd disk r used by many people. They haven't gone out of style yet. Many students use this setup because u don't need an expensive computer to use this media. Compact disk r larger and hold much more but some like a media that holds less info because they don't need a lot of MBs for their work. U can erase easy and fast using floppy disk and throw in your pocket and go. The Sony floppy drive camera still works great and take nice pics. If u need low budget floppy is the way to go.

Only reason you would use a floppy nowadays is for flashing purposes and booting into dos
