Shouldn't I remove the floor molding before I put down backer board and new tile?
I had done tiling before. I am sure you need to remove the floor molding first, put down the backer board, put the tiles down and then put back the floor molding in place.
YES, Base goes on top of floor.
Yes, remove molding and toe strip if there is one. Putting the molding down would be about the last thing you will do after the tile is down.
