Filling a gap between window and wall

I have a closed balcony, which has windows with aluminum frame. recently I have noticed that there's a gap between one side of the window and the wall. I though about using white colored silicon to fill that gap, but it's about 2cm wide and I'm afraid that it won't hold.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a job for Urethane foam.  It'll plug gaps up to several inches across and, being foam, is good insulation.  They sell it in spray cans at your local Home Improvement warehouse.  Only caveat is you'll want to sand it down once dry, since it tends to have a puffy-pillowy surface, and then coat the exposed surface with silicon calk and paint, because the urethane breaks down on exposure to sunlight and weather.
