You seem to have the exercise part down if you are taking part in the Senior Olympics.  That leaves diet (and possibly sleep).

What are your carbohydrate sources?  Eating a high-glycemic diet can catch up with you over the years.  Have you ever looked into the Paleo diet?

Of course, you could always focus on getting better sleep and this may help.
